in illinois, a license is required if you are an individual who administers for remuneration the financial, administrative, maintenance, or other duties for the community association. the state of il department of financial and professional regulation recognizes irem’s community association management course (com201) for the education requirement and the community association management exam (comexm) for the exam requirement.
if you need to take the course before the exam, click here to register for the community association management - com201 course. per the illinois community association manager act 225 ilcs 427/40 (7)(b), the education requirement does not apply to “persons holding a real estate managing broker or real estate broker license in good standing issued under the real estate license act of 2000.”
this exam will be taken with a live online proctor (lop). for more information about live online proctoring, click here. if you register for the independent exam, you have thirty days from the registration date to complete the exam.
